Over at JungleJanuary Struts! « Pretty Grievances there is skin and hair flying with all manner of sewistas sizing each other up with their marvelous jungle creations, pop on over and have a look, loads to inspire and as always with Anne’s posts- great fun.
My contribution is this little squirrel faux fur collar. The simple little design was originally posed by Colette Patterns take the link for Faux Fur Peter Pan Collar Tutorial (with free pattern!) | Coletterie.
It is a quick little make – ideal for our current inclement weather, worn tight at the neck under your winter coat over a sweater and no draughts!
Wow this is gorgeous!
Oh thank you, the quality of the faux fur is the thing
Lovely! Can you advise a good place to get quality faux fur, by chance? We don’t get it in our part of the (back) woods! Gracias.
Sorry I’ve been on holiday with no connection so just catching up with comments etc. I bought mine from Mandors in Glasgow – however look for the label luxury faux fur which is always a lovely quality and feel. Macculloch and Wallis – London I believe have a range tho it can be expensive; i’d wait for the sales! Hope this helps
That is beyond fabulous! I bow down to your fur stitching skills.
Thank you, do try it so easy and when you think what they charge in the shops for these!
Looks so soft! A lovely accessory!
The fur is a luxury faux fur remnant picked up quite cheaply, thinking of a matching muff but not sure if the world is ready for that!
I just feel the silky softness of this collar. It’s gorgeous.
I love this!
I love easy projects that look really expensive!

This is gorgeous and thanks for the pattern link.
Very cute. I love faux fur and always have little leftovers I can’t bear (pardon the pun) to throw away. This would look super over a cashmere jumper.
Absolutely and a lot less cumbersome than a big woolly scarf.
The faux fur nowadays is so much better than the stuff from years back which was so obviously fake. Its no surprise that the luxury ones can be quite expensive – but you only need a little bit for cuffs and collars.
This is so cute. And it better not be squirrel or you will have some angry little followers when you wear it out!
haha…definitely no squirrel!, too much of an animal lover just a ruse for Anne at PG so I think i’m safe!
This is in my to-sew list too! I have tiny bit of faux fur fabric left but probably not enough to make this… I’ll need to order some more fur!
